The attached Return to Sport Plan has been developed for our sport in order to ensure:- health and safety of all individuals is a priority- activities are in alignment with provincial health recommendations- modifications to activities are in place in order to reduce the risks to each sport organisation and its participants- our sport is united and aligned on a plan to reopen throughout the provinceWhile we do hope things will return to normal in the not too distant future, currently this Return to Sport Plan will be the new normal until we are advised otherwise by public health authorities.If you choose to participate, you must follow these rules:- If you do not feel well or are displaying symptoms of COVID-19, you must stay home.- If you have traveled outside of Canada, you are not permitted at the facility until you have self-isolated for a minimum of 14 days- If you live in a household with someone who has COVID-19 or is showing symptoms of COVID19, please stay home.- Wash your hands before participating- Bring your own equipment, water bottle and anything else you would need.- Comply with physical distancing measures at all time- Avoid physical contact with others, including shaking hands, high fives, etc.- Leave the field of play as quickly as possible after you finishOur Return to Sport Plan is based on current public health guidance. While we are all doing our best to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19, while the virus circulates in our communities it is impossible to eliminate the risk. Each participant must make their own decision as to whether it is in their best interest to resume participation at this time. You must take into account your own circumstances and make the decision that is right for you. Should you choose to join us, we require your full cooperation with our Return to Sport Plan. PARTICIPANT AGREEMENTApplication - all athletes, coaches, members, volunteers, participants and family members of participants while in attendance at club activities ("Participants")All Participants of Flight Basketball agree to abide by the following points when entering club facilities and/or participating in club activities under the COVID-19 Response plan and RTP Protocol:- I agree to symptom screening checks and will let my club know if I have experienced any of the symptoms in the last 14 days.- I agree to stay home if feeling sick and remain home for 14 days if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.- I agree to sanitize my hands upon entering and exiting the facility, with soap or sanitizer.- I agree to sanitize the equipment I use throughout my practice with approved cleaning products provided by the club (shared and personal equipment).- I agree to continue to follow social distancing protocols of staying at least 2m away from others.- I agree to not share any equipment during practice times.- I agree to abide by all my Clubs COVID-19 Policies and Guidelines.- I understand that if I do not abide by the aforementioned policies/guidelines, that I may be asked to leave the club for up to 14 days to help protect myself and others around me.- I acknowledge that continued abuse of the policies and/or guidelines may result in suspension of my club membership temporarily.- I acknowledge that there are risks associated with entering club facilities and/or participating in club activities, and that the measures taken by the club and participants, including those set out above and under the COVID-19 Response Plan and Return to Sport Protocols, will not entirely eliminate those risks.ILLNESS POLICYIn this policy, "Team member" includes an employee, volunteer, participant or parent/spectator.1. Inform an individual in a position of authority (coach, team manager, program coordinator) immediately if, you feel any symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and painful swallowing, stuffy or runny nose, loss of sense of smell, headache, muscle aches, fatigue and loss of appetite.2. Assessmenta. Team members must review the self-assessment signage located throughout the facility each morning before their shift/practice/activity to attest that they are not feeling any of the COVID 19 symptoms.b. Managers/coaches will visually monitor team members to assess any early warning signs as to the status of their health and to touch base on how they are regarding their personal safety throughout the workday/practice/activity.c. If Team Members are unsure please have them use the self-assessment tool or through the COVID-19 Support App self-assessment tool.3. If a Team Member is feeling sick with COVID-19 symptomsa. They should remain at home and contact Health Link AB at 8-1-1.b. If they feel sick and /or are showing symptoms while at work, they should be sent home immediately and have them contact 8-1-1 or a doctor for further guidance.c. No Team Member may participate in a practice/activity if they are symptomatic.4. If a Team Member tests positive for COVID-19a. The Team Member will not be permitted to return to the workplace/practice/facility until they are free of the COVID-19 virus.b. Any Team Members who work/play closely with the infected Team Member will also be removed from the workplace/practice/facility for at least 14 days to ensure the infection does not spread further.c. Close off, clean and disinfect their work/practice/facility area immediately and any surfaces that could have potentially be infected/touched.5. If a Team Member has been tested and is waiting for the results of a COVID-19 Testa. As with the confirmed case, the Team Member must be removed from the workplace/practice/facility.b. The Public Health Agency of Canada advises that any person who has even mild symptoms to stay home and call the public health authority of Alberta.c. Other Team Members who may have been exposed will be informed and removed from the workplace/practice/activity for at least 14 days or until the diagnosis of COVID-19 is ruled out by health authorities.d. The workspace/practice/activity space will be closed off, cleaned, and disinfected immediately and any other surfaces that could have potentially been infected/touched.6. If a Team Member has come in to contact with someone who is confirmed to have COVID-19a. Team Members must advise their employer/coach if they reasonably believe they have been exposed to COVID-19. b. Once the contact is confirmed, the Team Member will be removed from the workplace/practice/activity for at least 14 days or as otherwise directed by public health authorities. Team Members who may have come into close contact with the Team Member will also be removed from the workplace for at least 14 days. c. The workspace/activity area will be closed off, cleaned, and disinfected immediately and any other surfaces that could have potentially been infected/touched.7. Quarantine or Self-Isolate if: a. Any Team Member who has travelled outside of Canada or the province within the last 14 days is not permitted to enter any part of the facility and must quarantine and self-isolate.b. Any Team Member with any symptoms of COVID-19 is not permitted to enter any part of the facility and must quarantine and self-isolate. c. Any Team Member from a household with someone showing symptoms of COVID-19 is not permitted to enter any part of the facility and must quarantine and self-isolate. d. Any Team Member who is in quarantine or self-isolating as a result of contact with an infected person or in families who are self-isolating, is not permitted to enter any part of the facility.Training Camp Structure- We are going away from the traditional full day camp model for individual training session for the month of July. August will be full day camp model with limited spaces.- Camp will be limited to a maximum of 15 athletes and 2 coaches.- Sessions will last 60 to 90 minutes be depending on the grade level.- There will be 15 minutes between sessions to allow proper exists and the entrance of camp- Sessions will focus on individual skills- No contact will be allowed.- There will be no form of live game play. There will no game play that involves an offensive player and a defensively players executing their roles in a uncontrolled environment.- Skills competition (shooting, dribbling etc.) is permitted as long as athletes do not come in contact with each other. Coaches are well trained in designing and implementing such games.Prior to camp July and August- If any parent/athlete/coach have any of any of the following symptoms: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and painful swallowing, stuffy or runny nose, loss of sense of smell, headache, muscle aches, fatigue or loss of appetite will not be permitted to enter the facility.- If any parent/athlete/coach is living with someone that is, either sick, self-isolating, or quarantined will not be permitted to enter the facility. It is recommended that anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 call 8-1-1 for guidance.- Athletes are encouraged to use bathroom at home prior to leaving for camp. We want to keep bathroom usage to the absolute minimum.- Athletes must bring their own basketball and water bottles to camp. Water fountains will be off limits.- Athletes are encouraged to bring a mask, if they feel comfortable to do so. Camp July and August- Social distancing policies will be posted in front of entrance. Please ensure that you and your athlete understand the importance of staying at a safe distance from others.- Doors will be propped open for 20 minutes prior to and after camp so that no one touches the handles. Fire safety guidelines will be respected.- One door will be designated for entrance and another will be designated for exist if possible. Please pay attention to signage.- Upon arrival parents are asked to drop their athletes off in parking lot. Only athletes should exist the car and make their way to the gym. Same applies to pick up.- Staff will be encouraging the same measures for parking lots and athletes walking to gymnasium with proper distancing measures.- Parents and athletes will be required to stay in their vehicle/remain in the parking lot until their session is commenced. Please respect these guidelines.- Athletes will be required to use hand sanitizer located at the entrance prior to going and leaving camp. Staff members will be monitoring this procedure.- Once inside athletes are inside, they are required to go to their designated hoop. Hoops will be assigned prior to camp and posted at communicate with athletes upon entry.Bathrooms July and August- Please make sure your athlete uses the bathroom prior to arriving to camp.- wipe down bathroom after usage.Post Camp - Athletes will be required to sanitize their hands upon leaving camp. - Athletes are recommended to bring different basketball attire to camp every day or wash their attire at home. - Parents and Athletes are to communicate any changes to their health to the health authority (8-1-1) and Basketball club as soon as they are showing symptoms.Thank you very much for your understanding of the new guidelines. Pro-Am Youth Basketball aims to provide a basketball introduction to children. Both beginners, and intermediates to the fundamentals of basketball. We provide an opportunity to play structured games where we implement the fundamentals learned in practice. We offer opportunities for boys and girls between the ages of 4-7, 8-12 years of age.

Return to Play - COVID 19 Response (Updated March.12-2021)
Eligible participants include:
COVID-19 or Communicable Disease 1. Due to government COVID-19 response measures, league or club play may be modified to include: • smaller groups• no spectators, audience or parents allowed• physical distancing and other hygiene related requirements for players and coaches • additional record keeping requirements, including attestations of compliance with COVID-19 mitigation measures 2. Due to ongoing uncertainty with regards to COVID-19:
• we cannot guarantee the duration of the season, or if it happens at all • we cannot guarantee gym availabilities for games or practices• in the event of a resurgence in COVID-19 we may be required to suspend play which could end the season
COVID-19 Attestation 1. Does not knowingly have COVID-19; 2. Is not experiencing any known symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath or malaise; 3. Has not travelled internationally during the past 14 days; 4. Has not frequented a COVID-19 high risk area in the Province during the last 14 days; 5. Has not, in the past 14 days, knowingly come into contact with someone who has COVID-19, who has known symptoms of COVID-19, or is self-quarantining after returning to Canada; and 6. Has been following government recommended guidelines in respect of COVID-19, including practising physical distancing.
Furthermore, the athlete, or athlete’s Guardian agrees that while attending or participating in Edmonton Pro-Am Basketball practices/games they: 1. Will follow the laws, recommended guidelines, and protocols issued by the Government of the Province in respect of COVID-19, including practising physical distancing, and will do so to the best of the participant’s ability while participating/attending in the club's practices; 2. Will follow the guidelines and protocols mandated by the club in respect of COVID-19; 3. Will NOT attend practice or game, in the event that they experience any symptoms of illness such as a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath. (Please stay home)
